Week of February 23rd

Four more chapters of The Lemonade War!  I wonder how it will end.  Will Evan and Jessie make up?

IMPORTANT! Please work on today's math homework (6-9) together.  This is a difficult kind of story problem to grasp for many students.  Even if you have a "math whiz" at home, please check to make sure they understand this skill.  We will have a quiz on Monday.

Reading Tip of the Week:
Gently correct your young reader. When your child makes a mistake, gently point out the letters he or she missed or read incorrectly. Many beginning readers will guess at words based on it's first letter.

HERE IS WHAT WE WILL WORK ON THIS WEEK:

Language arts Lesson 20 will include:
  • What makes a story funny?-We will read "Little Rabbit's Tale?".
  • Cause and Effect
  • Compound words
  • Short vowel ea (bread)
  • Prepositions and prepositional phrases
Math will include:
  • Quiz on Lessons 7-9
  • Measurement with inches
  • Tables
  • Quiz on Lessons 10-11
  • Comparing and rotating shapes
  • Combining shapes to make new shapes
